What a valuation is, and what it is not

A figure is useful once it is clear what belongs to you: a flat, a car, equipment, a business, a share, stock, or a right in a product. The value is set by a valuer of the required qualification. Dublon organises the valuation and does not stand in for the valuer.

A valuation report and a court expert’s opinion are different documents. The court assesses the evidence. The parties agree the price of a future transaction themselves. The report does not create a right in the property, and it is not an instruction to sell it.

When a figure is actually needed

A sale, a division, an inheritance, and a dispute about a sum ask for different grounds of valuation. Which one is commissioned is named before the work starts. This note does not forecast the figure a court, or the other party, will accept.
