What usually starts a notarial file

The notary draws the list for the particular file. What follows is not an instruction to bring everything. It is what a family is almost always asked, before the file moves.
- The death certificate.
- Documents of kinship: birth and marriage certificates, a change of name, an adoption decision where there is one.
- The will, if the family knows of one, or a plain statement that no will is known.
- What already exists for the property: a register extract, a title certificate, a contract. A technical passport does not replace a title document, but it sometimes identifies which object is being discussed.
An heir abroad also needs a document of identity and, if a representative acts, a power of attorney in a form the Ukrainian notary will accept. What is missing is named after the notary can see which property, and which line of heirs, the file actually contains. Collecting family archives just in case, before that conversation, usually only delays the application to accept.
General information about Ukrainian inheritance law. It is not advice on a particular estate. An enquiry does not create the comprehensive support agreement, the advocacy-assistance agreement, or a power of attorney.
